Women's Fiction Author & Storyteller
Born and raised in the Appalachian foothills of Alabama, Beth Anne is a historical fiction writer and storyteller. Her stories explore self-discovery, kinship, and a sense of place, with a hint of romance.
Beth Anne's first short story, "Tracing the Spirit," is available in the award-winning anthology Feisty Deeds: Historical Fictions of Daring Women. Her second short story, "A Whispered Miracle" is now available in Feisty Deeds: Historical Tales of Batches and Brews.
Her story, "Cucumbers on the Carport," was featured on NPR's The Sundial Writers Corner in summer 2025.
Hidden in the Hills of Tennessee
The graveyard without a church is located in the hills of Southern Middle Tennessee. Hills that are part of the Southern Appalachians and so sharply sloped that it’s a miracle cows can stay vertical while grazing. An hour or so away from Nashville, city lights are a far-flung idea, and if I had my guess, the people that live ‘round here like it that way...Enjoy the rest of the story.
A Little Christmas
Christmas morning, 1942
The chilled air nipped at William’s nose and fingers. He yanked the bedcovers over his face and blew hot puffs of breath to warm himself, stealing a few more minutes of his dream. Scrunching his eyes closed, he pictured Daddy stoking the fire and Momma carrying in a tray of batter cakes smothered in Golden Eagle Syrup.
